The centerpiece of the event will be Family/Community Boat Building of six 18-foot wood canoes from kits. On Saturday at Frazier Point, in addition to the boat building, there will be displays of antique boats and motors, a nautical swap meet, a display of "popsicle stick" boats built by children at the Children's Museum as well as other exhibits, including historical ones. Bring a picnic lunch and buy soda and "Turtle Sundaes on a Stick." On Sunday morning the finishing touches will be put on the boats. Activities move to the harbor area at noon. There will be a boat parade, boat rides, and food and refreshments to purchase. The Yacht Club will hold an "Open House". There will be a demonstration on water research, a Native American storyteller, a display of the "popsicle stick" boats, balloons and face-painting for the children.
